Handshake Speakeasy: Five New Cocktails Onboard

Two-time North America’s Best Bar, Handshake Speakeasy, is bringing its award-winning mixology onboard Princess Cruises ships.

The partnership will introduce five exclusive, bespoke cocktails, meticulously crafted by Handshake’s award-winning mixologists, named “North America’s Best Bar 2025” for two consecutive years in the World’s 50 Best Bars rankings, celebrated for their inventive approach to cocktail creation.

Sami Kohen, Vice President of Food and Beverage for Princess Cruises, stated that the company is constantly committed to enhancing the guest experience, and this new partnership represents the pinnacle of excellence in cocktail culture. He emphasized that these are unique creations, impossible to find elsewhere, and expressed enthusiasm for their introduction across the Princess fleet, confident they will offer guests an unforgettable experience at sea.

This is Handshake Speakeasy’s first collaboration with a cruise line, bringing the sophisticated atmosphere and exclusive Mexican hospitality onboard through innovative drinks. Three of the five exclusive cocktails will be served at the Crooners Bar, while the remaining two will be reserved exclusively for Sanctuary Collection guests aboard the Star Princess at the end of the year. Afterwards, the cocktails will be rolled out across all 17 Princess ships in the following weeks.

At Crooners, the exclusive creations include the Pan Am Punch (Bacardi Superior, Aperol, Lemon, Orgeat), Green Tea (Bombay Sapphire Gin, Lemon, Vanilla, Coconut, Matcha Tea), and the Banana Bread O.F. (Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey, Banana, Nut Butter, Maple).

At The Sanctuary Club (part of the Sanctuary Collection), guests will find Hibiscus & Spice (Pantalones Tequila Blanco, Hibiscus, Lime, Cinnamon, Cointreau, Vanilla) and Red Fruit & Rose with Elyx Vodka, Strawberry, Rose Water, Jasmine Tea, and Lime.

World-renowned mixologist and Princess Cruises global ambassador Rob Floyd recently filmed a digital narrative in Mexico City, exploring vibrant markets alongside Eric Van Beek, co-owner and head mixologist of Handshake, to show how these new cocktails were created.

Rob Floyd highlighted that collaborating with Handshake Speakeasy is not just about mixing spirits, but about telling a story with every sip. He emphasized that the five cocktails created for the occasion are unique, playful, and convey the essence of Mexico City’s vibrant bar culture.

Rodrigo Urraca, co-owner of Handshake Speakeasy, also expressed great excitement about the partnership, noting that it allows the bar to reach a wider audience and showcase its craft with the support of an exceptional partner.

In addition to this new collaboration, Princess continues to offer its popular Love Line Premium Liquors Collection, featuring a curated selection of wines and spirits, along with non-alcoholic creations.
