Rembrandt Van Rijn was built in 1947 to do herring fishing and was then converted in 1994 into a three-mast schooner in the Netherlands. The ship then sailed in Spitsbergen (1994-1996) and the Galápagos (1998–2001). It has subsequently undergone a complete rebuild and refurbishment that has made it a small island expedition ship with wonderful viewing areas from the outside deck.
The two inflatable boats carried onboard allow for landing and wildlife viewing opportunities in otherwise inaccessible areas. The Rembrandt Van Rijn today sails for Oceanwide Expeditions, it can accommodate a maximum of 33 passengers divided into 16 cabins. A unique experience, both for the locations visited on the planned itineraries and for the navigation onboard a vintage ship.
