The announcement of the first Robinson Club resort in China, along with the signing of a new TUI Blue property in the country, marks an important milestone in the Group’s expansion journey. This strategy also includes the entry of the TUI Blue brand into Japan and the TUI Suneo brand into Vietnam. Currently, TUI Hotels & Resorts operates 24 hotels in China and Southeast Asia, while projects in the pipeline are set to add a further 29 openings in the coming years.

Sebastian Ebel, CEO of TUI Group, highlighted that expansion in Asia represents a key strategic opportunity to diversify the customer base, attract international guests, and strengthen the profitability of the Group’s hotels. With more than 450 properties worldwide, TUI ranks among the leading international players in the leisure sector. According to Ebel, the development of the first Robinson Club and the expansion of the TUI Blue portfolio in Asia underscore the Group’s long-term commitment to the region, enabling consistently high occupancy rates throughout the year and enhancing overall profitability.
The first Robinson Club in China will be developed in Meifan, at the heart of the Yangtze River Delta Green Demonstration Zone, a national project dedicated to sustainable development. Covering an area of 160,000 square metres, the resort will form part of a sports and leisure district featuring sailing and water sports activities, catering to both families and couples under the “For All” concept. The opening is scheduled for January 2029. Bernd Mäser, Co-CEO of TUI Hotels & Resorts, emphasized that the resort brings the brand’s premium concept to a region that symbolizes sustainable development and high-quality tourism, designed for an international clientele. The project will integrate ESG principles, innovative water technologies, and renewable energy sources, reaffirming TUI’s sustainable approach to expanding its presence in Asia.
