Greenock Cruise Port is confirmed as one of the key gateways for tourism in Scotland, thanks to direct connections with Glasgow and Edinburgh. Its shore excursion offering ranges from historic castles and lochs to cultural experiences and outdoor activities. Modern infrastructure and a deep-water berth allow the port to accommodate vessels of all sizes, while ongoing investments are enhancing homeporting capabilities and the overall passenger experience. Equally important is its strong connection with the local community, supported by cultural, educational, and maritime initiatives, alongside a firm commitment to sustainability through low-emission operations and the use of electric vehicles. With around 80 annual calls and strong bookings already in place for 2027 and 2028, the port’s growth trajectory remains steady.
Liverpool Cruise Port further strengthens its position among the UK’s leading cruise destinations through a successful combination of its strategic city-centre location and an increasingly diverse passenger offering. The vibrant waterfront is complemented by continuously evolving services: improvements for independent travellers, expanded retail opportunities, and a growing integration with hotels and pre-boarding experiences all contribute to a smooth, modern, and stress-free embarkation process.
Close collaboration with local tourism authorities continues to support the development of tailored experiences that showcase the region and offer cruise guests an authentic immersion in the destination. At the same time, the introduction of digital platforms and community-driven initiatives is enhancing the port’s visibility and strengthening engagement with the local area.
The year 2026 is expected to be record-breaking, with 118 ship calls and 135 days alongside, around 350,000 passengers expected, and an estimated economic impact of £35 million, as well as the creation of approximately 50 jobs in the region. These figures are matched by strong social and environmental commitments: from coastal clean-up activities and healthcare support programmes to initiatives promoting women in the maritime sector, Liverpool continues to demonstrate its deep integration with the local community.
Looking ahead, Global Ports Holding will continue to invest strategically in the port to support sustainable growth, with a strong focus on continuously improving the guest experience and attracting key cruise markets. The city’s maritime heritage, particularly its legacy of ocean liners, remains a defining element of its identity, shaping both its development and future ambitions, supported by strong local community engagement and a shared long-term vision.

Bremerhaven stands out as one of the most innovative hubs within the GPH network, thanks to the introduction of advanced technological solutions. The adoption of shore power allows vessels to significantly reduce emissions while berthed, while autonomous buses and AI-driven robots enhance guest reception and improve operational efficiency. The goal is to create a state-of-the-art port environment that combines sustainability and innovation, while delivering a high-quality experience for passengers.
In this context, the General Manager of Bremerhaven Cruise Port highlighted that the terminal is strongly focused on leading the next generation of cruise operations, where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. He emphasized that the implementation of shore power, together with the integration of smart technologies such as autonomous transport systems and AI-based passenger services, significantly improves both operational efficiency and the overall guest experience. The objective, he added, is to develop a future-oriented port environment capable of delivering tangible value to cruise lines and redefining passenger experience standards from arrival through to embarkation.
Through the strengthening of its Northern European network, Global Ports Holding demonstrates the effectiveness of a model based on collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development. From Scotland’s destinations to Liverpool’s urban energy and Bremerhaven’s technological leadership, the Group offers cruise lines a strong and diversified proposition.
