Star Legend and the Culinary Cruise with Chef Anani

For this winter season, Windstar Cruises offers the opportunity to discover iconic ports such as Barcelona, Nice, Livorno, and Rome in a completely different light with the Legendary Winter itinerary on board the intimate yet iconic all-suite ship, Star Legend.

An intriguing proposition from Windstar Cruises aboard the Star Legend is the departure from Rome (Civitavecchia) on February 4, 2024. In its week-long itinerary with stops in Barcelona, the Star Legend will afford its guests the leisure to explore iconic Mediterranean destinations like Rome, Livorno, Nice, and Barcelona at a relaxed pace. The extended stays on land, including overnights in the ports of Rome (Civitavecchia), Nice, and Barcelona, will be accompanied by a special guest.

Passengers booking this itinerary will embark on a tasteful journey curated by the James Beard Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and elevating the individuals behind American food culture. The foundation advocates for a standard of good food rooted in talent, equity, and sustainability, and on the Star Legend, it will present a culinary-themed cruise.

Joining the passengers on board will be the renowned Chef Omar Anani, an American-Palestinian-Egyptian restaurateur and chef-owner of Saffron De Twah, an award-winning modern Moroccan bistro in the east part of Detroit. His food truck, The Twisted Mitten, was the first to serve halal cuisine in Michigan and was recognized as one of the best food trucks in the country by USA Today and Food Network. Chef Anani’s cuisine blends flavors and textures from around the world.

The James Beard Foundation cruise will feature a dinner hosted by Chef Anani with wine pairings, two cooking demonstrations on board with recipes, and a market visit alongside the Chef.

The Star Legend boasts 156 suites for a maximum of 312 guests and has recently undergone renovations as part of the $250 million Star Plus initiative to provide what its guests love most. This includes new public areas, two new dining venues, a new spa, an elevated pool, and a fitness area. The yacht also features entirely new bathrooms in each suite and a new suite category called Star, characterized by a new layout with ocean views.

Windstar Cruises aims to redefine the concept of winter travel in Europe, making this season rich in discoveries, thanks to the extended stays on land, including overnights in the ports of Barcelona, Nice, and Rome (Civitavecchia). This allows for a more intimate exploration in a completely different light of the cities touched by the winter itinerary of the Star Legend.
