Seven Seas Grandeur: cutting of the first plate

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has begun construction of Seven Seas Grandeur, with the ship’s steel cutting ceremony taking place at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona, Italy.

Seven Seas Grandeur will be the culmination of Regent’s rich history of offering discerning travelers unrivaled experiences with every imaginable luxury included and immersive exploration around the world,” said Jason Montague, president and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“We are delighted to once again be in the hands of Fincantieri‘s talented engineers, who will produce a ship with refined style, unparalleled elegance and breathtaking beauty.”

Seven Seas Grandeur will accommodate just 750 guests and have a gross tonnage of 55,500 tons, providing space and staffing ratios among the highest in the industry. It is a sister ship to Seven Seas Explorer, the most luxurious ship ever built, and Seven Seas Splendor, the ship that perfects luxury.

Seven Seas Grandeur‘s recent reveals include all 15 categories of luxurious and spacious suites, the highlight being the sumptuous 412-square-foot Regent Suite, complete with its own in-house spa. In addition, renderings of the exquisite specialty restaurants Prime 7 and Chartreuse have been unveiled, along with the eye-catching reinvented design of the largest specialty restaurant on the sea, Compass Rose, offering an unprecedented and fully customized epicurean experience with an unparalleled variety of gourmet options available at night.

Montague added, “We recently resumed operations with the inaugural season of our newest ship, Seven Seas Splendor, and our incredible journey continues with this milestone as we begin construction on Seven Seas Grandeur. In two years, we will welcome the sixth ship in the world’s most luxurious fleet, which will exemplify our legacy of perfection with unrivaled space, unparalleled service, exceptional cuisine and transformative experiences that begin the moment you step aboard.”

Seven Seas Grandeur will begin its inaugural season in November 2023, featuring 17 incredible Caribbean and Mediterranean voyages, as well as 2 fascinating transatlantic crossings, all from 7 to 16 nights in length.
