A-Rosa: debut for its two new ships

A-Rosa Alea and A-Rosa Clea, the two new units of A-Rosa Cruises, made their debut on the Rhine River on April 5th and 7th, respectively, sailing to discover historically rich cities such as Basel, Strasbourg, Mainz, Koblenz, Willemstad, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Hoorn, and Emmerich with 7-night cruises.

The two ships, measuring 110 meters long, will traverse the famous Rhine itineraries during the 2024 season, offering a variety of cruises ranging from four to seven nights from Cologne to major cities in the Netherlands and Belgium, to historical sites along the Rhine and Moselle valleys, and in the cities of the triangle between Germany, France, and Switzerland. Christmas market cruises are scheduled, including stops in Strasbourg, Frankfurt, Mainz, and Rüdesheim. This season’s New Year’s Eve cruise will take the two ships along the southern Rhine to Basel, where A-Rosa guests will celebrate the end of the year for the first time.

“With these two additions, we are meeting the constantly increasing demand. We are pleased to have added these two ships to our program, which complement the A-ROSA fleet in a valuable way. This is confirmed by the impressions of our first guests who are currently on board and who praise the atmosphere and excellent service,” commented Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-Rosa Flussschiff GmbH.

Onboard, guests can enjoy the renowned A-Rosa service, which includes a full board Plus treatment. In the evening, in addition to the appetizer and dessert buffet, guests can choose from a selection of daily changing main courses. In the Panorama Lounge at the bow of both ships, guests can indulge in delicious creations from the A-Rosa Bar menu while enjoying the best view of the passing landscape.

“Thanks to their reduced length, the two ships can call at even more exclusive ports than the other ships in the fleet already do. With space for a maximum of 140 guests, they also offer a very intimate travel experience and are ideal for couples, groups of friends, or solo travelers,” explains Eichler.

After the inaugural season of 2024, A-Rosa Alea will head to the Seine for the 2025 season, departing from Paris to Normandy and Le Havre. A-Rosa Viva, currently operating there, will then return to the Rhine/Main/Moselle region. Next year, A-Rosa Clea will embark on several cruises from Frankfurt along the Main, Moselle, and Middle Rhine valleys before heading to Bordeaux to cruise the Gironde/Garonne, a new cruise region, starting in 2026.
