The Norwegian group Hurtigruten is the only operator that still offers connections on the Norwegian coast from Bergen in the south of the country to the North Cape, stopping over at 30 larger and smaller ports. Hurtigruten cannot be compared to a classic cruise company, because in addition to round-trip cruise passengers, daily passengers and goods of all kinds are also transported.
From each of the ports there is a daily departure toward the south and one toward the north; the round trip lasts eleven days, so eleven ships are in use all year round. In addition, the Hurtigruten group undertakes expedition cruises - with purpose-built ships, but also with former coastal traffic ships.
