The MS Vesterålen, recently refurbished in 2025, is a true gem among cruise ships, beloved for its classic charm and intimate atmosphere. Despite being the smallest in the fleet, with a capacity of only 274 guests, it offers an authentic and cozy sailing experience, perfect for those seeking a closer connection to the environment and fellow travelers. The refurbishment included 100 cabins, introducing new Arctic Superiors and Mini Suites that combine modern comfort with bright and welcoming design. Onboard, Nordic elegance is also reflected in the restaurants and panoramic lounge, which have been renamed to maintain a consistent identity with the other Original Coastal Express ships.
The main restaurant, Torget, offers a wide variety for all meals of the day, with buffets and set menus for dinner, while the Brygga bistro serves simple yet refined dishes such as salads and pizzas with a Nordic twist, ideal for a more casual meal. The real gem for relaxation is the Explorer Lounge & Bar: with large windows and a glass ceiling, it’s the perfect place to sip a handcrafted cocktail and enjoy the spectacular views along the route.
The onboard experience is enriched by the Expedition Team, always available to share fascinating insights about nature, wildlife, and local culture, making every moment of the journey an opportunity for discovery.
