Description

Havila Capella is the oldest ship in the Havila Voyages fleet, launched in December 2021. Measuring 124 meters in length and 22 meters in width, it offers space for 640 passengers across 179 cabins, with a total capacity of 680 people, including 76 crew members. This ship is equipped with a hybrid system that combines 6.1 MWh batteries and liquefied natural gas (LNG) engines, allowing up to 4 hours of zero-emission sailing. Thanks to this technology, the Capella can navigate sensitive fjords like the Geirangerfjord without polluting the surrounding environment. On board, guests can enjoy a modern Nordic design, large panoramic windows, restaurants serving seasonal Norwegian cuisine, a spa, sauna, and an outdoor jacuzzi.

A Journey Through Nature and Light

Comment

The cruise on the Havila Capella turned out to be one of the most rejuvenating experiences of my life. The ship follows the historic Norwegian coastal route. What struck me most was the silence. Thanks to its battery and liquefied natural gas propulsion system, the ship glides through the water almost noiselessly. One night, as we sailed through a fjord beneath the northern lights, I stood still on the deck, speechless—there was only the sound of the wind. It felt like being in a dream. The ship is filled with natural light, with huge panoramic windows everywhere. You can simply sit with a cup of coffee and watch the landscape change, minute by minute. The meals were an experience in themselves. The dishes, served at the table, were clearly prepared with local ingredients. I tasted stockfish, reindeer, and a rhubarb dessert—each course accompanied by an explanation of the ingredients' origins and the Norwegian culinary tradition.
