Silver Moon: Maiden Voyages starting June 18th

For Loyal passengers of the luxury cruise line Silversea, it seems like their last cruise was many moons ago.  They will be elated to hear that Silversea’s magnificent new Silver Moon is sailing from Athens in a series of 10-day cruises starting June 18th.  These voyages in the Eastern Mediterranean will explore some of Greece’s most beautiful destinations.  Expect to see Paros, Mykonos, Santorini and Crete when Silversea unveils the itineraries and opens sales on April 15thSilver Moon will also venture deeper into the Mediterranean with calls in Haifa, Israel and the island country of Cyprus.

Passengers will experience new standards of luxury aboard Silversea’s newest ship

Silver Moon follows her twin sister ship Silver Muse in affording guests one of the most luxurious experiences afloat. Carrying just 596 passengers, Silver Moon maintains the small-ship profile and all-suite accommodations for which Silversea is justly famous. Every single suite on the ship is served by a dedicated Butler. He is one of 411 crew members for one of the highest passenger to crew ratios in all of cruising. All but 12 suites have verandas for instant access to the sea breezes.

Dining options are many including a brand-new program that will revolutionize Culinary Travel

Seven perennial favorite dining experiences will be familiar to Silversea’s past passengers. Atlantide is the ship’s main dining room.  La Dame continues to bring the finest French cuisine aboard.  La Terrazza’s Italian specialties are particularly popular as is its al fresco dining terrace overlooking the wake of the ship.  It is one of three al fresco dining experiences. The Grill is a poolside favorite.  One deck up, Spaccanapoli is named for Naples famous street lined with the restaurants serving Naples own gift to the culinary world: Pizza. Silver Note is the perfect place for tapas and smooth jazz.  Kaiseki is a calm oasis serving the most extraordinary Japanese specialties. And finally, there’s an entire deck devoted to an entirely new Culinary adventure: S.A.L.T.

Introducing S.A.L.T. Sea And Land Tastes

Silversea has made Silver Moon the most culinary-focused of all cruise ships. Under the direction of Adam Sachs, James Beard Award-winning writer and former editor of Saveur Magazine, Silver Moon will excel at bringing food to life both on ship and ashore. Adam Sachs explains: “Food and the culture surrounding it has been my beat for more than 20 years. I love to cook and I live to travel and eat. But what keeps me going is not just chasing that next great meal.

What I really love is following food to its source, and meeting the people preserving culinary traditions, creating new ones and teaching us all how to eat in more well-informed ways. Silversea is the perfect home for S.A.L.T. because cuisine is not just a hallmark of the cruise experience; it’s also part of the foundation. Whether your interest in seeing new places through food and drink is the reason you cruise or if you just want to enrich your experience, please join us here for stories that explore the flavors of the world—and on-board Silver Moon for more culinary adventures”.

For Safety’s Sake…Silversea will require all crew and guests to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

In line with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Silversea will require all embarking crew and guests to have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The requirement will apply to all Silversea voyages globally, with the exclusion of sailings departing from Australia, for which protocol is still under evaluation.“Our guests share our excitement for our eagerly-anticipated healthy return to service.

In recent months, we have seen the cruise industry resume responsibly in destinations around the world and we are delighted to announce these new inaugural sailings for our flagship,” says Roberto Martinoli, President and CEO of Silversea Cruises. “Vaccinations will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit, which we priorities above all else. Paired with our science-backed onboard procedures, which leverage on the expertise of the Royal Caribbean Group’s Healthy Sail Panel, vaccinations will enable our guests to travel deep into the world once again, with a renewed sense of appreciation for our beautiful planet.

Backed by the Royal Caribbean Group, we have introduced a range of initiatives—including our ‘Cruise with Confidence’ program and our COVID-19 protections—to enable our guests to travel in superlative comfort and with unwavering confidence.”
