Description

Joining the Albatros Expeditions fleet in June 2023, the Ocean Albatros is the sister ship of the already acclaimed Ocean Victory. Designed to offer exploratory cruises to some of the most remote and fascinating regions on Earth—including Antarctica, the Arctic, and many other adventurous destinations—the Ocean Albatros represents the pinnacle of next-generation polar navigation.
Onboard, the ship features 94 comfortable staterooms and suites with sea views, most of which include a private balcony, offering guests an exclusive and immersive connection with the surrounding landscapes. The interior spaces are spacious, modern, and designed to foster relaxation, social interaction, and discovery. Amenities include two onboard restaurants, a wellness area, the atmospheric Albatros Nordic Bar, an open-air dining area, a modern lecture lounge, and a panoramic sauna—an exclusive feature not found on its sister ship. Thoughtfully designed for solo travelers as well, the Ocean Albatros offers dedicated single cabins with no supplement, reflecting a growing attention to personalized onboard experiences.
In addition to its comfort and style, what truly sets this ship apart is its commitment to sustainability. With its cutting-edge construction, the Ocean Albatros boasts over 50% lower emissions than traditional expedition vessels. It is part of the Green Initiative Program, implementing low-impact technologies that allow guests to travel in full respect of the fragile ecosystems visited. From a technical perspective, the ship holds some of the highest classifications for polar expeditions: Polar Code 6 and Ice Class 1A, making it ideal for icy waters. Its X-Bow® Infinity Class design ensures exceptional stability even in rough weather, reducing movement on high waves and ensuring smooth, safe navigation. Moreover, its SOLAS 2012 certification ensures a safe return to port in case of emergency.
Equipped with four diesel engines and two electronically controlled electric engines, the Ocean Albatros is part of a new generation of energy-efficient vessels that optimize speed and fuel consumption without compromising comfort or performance.

The ship is well designed and very beautiful. It was not the first time in Alaska, but it was an incredible emotion, as if it were the first time. The high level of service and the perfect organization of the entire exploration certainly contributed. The cabin was cozy and equipped with every comfort, the view of the ocean and the comfortable beds made me feel at home, even though we were literally at the end of the world. One of the most extraordinary aspects of the cruise was the excursion program. Every day there were landings on land or zodiac rides to get closer to the local fauna and spectacular landscapes. Experts in marine biology and geology who enriched us with detailed information on the history, geography and ecology of Antarctica. Life on board was also pleasant. The meals were of high quality, the main restaurant offered a splendid panoramic view, which made every meal an opportunity to admire the landscape. This cruise was an extraordinary experience!
