Viking Forseti, constructed in 2013, has a length of 135 meters, a crew of 50 people, and features 95 comfortable cabins to accommodate a maximum of 190 guests. The ship has 4 decks where you'll find the restaurant, the library, the bar & lounge, the gift shop, and the Aquavit Terrace, a revolutionary indoor/outdoor observation area at the bow of the ship for alfresco dining.
On the Sun Deck with a 360-degree view, you'll find a shaded seating area, solar panels, a putting green, and a walking track. The name derives from mythology; Forseti, the Norse god of justice, radiates the light of truth.

Lovely time in Bordeaux
Sails in a lovely part of France we many not have otherwise visited and ports in small towns we enjoyed discovering.
It doesn't do much sailing - multiple overnights in ports, no locks, and short distances.
Viking Forseti was a nice longship. Food was average, wine was great (Bordeaux wines for the region). Gironne River is muddy (naturally so) and has some pretty scenery along its banks/shore. Ship lacks amenities except for a top-deck track and coffee bar.

Lovely Longship that Sails Bordeaux
Loved learning about Bordeaux and the region through small ports and interesting stops on the Garonne & Dordogne Rivers.
The itinerary doesn't sail that much - of 7 nights, it's docked overnight 3 times and does very minimal sailing overall.
Viking staff is very friendly, food is good (not great), and we loved that they served Bordeaux wine even with included lunch/dinner beverages. And they don't charge any corkage fee for wines you bring on the ship during the trip!
