The Norwegian Jade, a Norwegian Cruise Line ship that was built in 2006 in Germany, recently underwent an important update that made it more modern and on par with the standards of this company known for the use of Freestyle. Overall the interiors have been redone to be more elegant, and some of the spaces have been completely renovated. Other spaces, such as O’Sheehan’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill have remained the same because they are a symbol of NCL and of course can’t be missing on the Norwegian Jade.

Upon coming on board, you will notice immediately the beautiful Atrium area, equipped with comfortable armchairs and several service offices that surround this elegant sitting area of the Norwegian Jade… The Atrium Cafè & Bar has a coffee bar area with delicious pastries on one side while on the other you can find the Guest Services area and the Excursion Office. An elegant shop opens up on to one side that has jewelry on display. From here there are two corridors that house respectively the Art Gallery and the Photo Gallery.

The clubs on board the Norwegian Jade are numerous, even though the ship is not large, and they ensure you will have plenty of entertainment to choose from. The Bliss, that has been completely renovated and is located on deck 7 in front of the theater, offers live music and entertainment until late. On deck 13, at the front of the ship, is the Spinnaker Lounge with a beautiful view to the exterior, a large dance floor, and a large bar counter. The Star Bar, on the same deck but at the middle of the ship, is smaller but just as pleasant for an evening cocktail or relaxing during the day when the ship is at sea.

A very popular and lively area is that at the center of deck 6. Following one after the other you will find: Tankards Beer & Whiskey Bar, Mixers Martini & Cocktail Bar and Magnum’s Champagne & Wine Bar. Everyone can have their own favorite drink to enjoy on the balcony or in the nice “square”, onto which Le Bistro French Restaurant and the Cigar Lounge face. Don’t miss out on a true Norwegian Cruise Line icon: O’Sheehans Neighborhood Bar & Grill, an English-style pub that serves up games, beers and snacks in a lively and fun environment.

More entertainment can be found at the Stardust Theater, decorated with Venetian-style masks, and at the Casino, decorated instead with an Asian flare, and also located on deck 6. At the back of the ship, on deck 7, you will find the Tradewinds shopping gallery. The beautiful Library is named after the transatlantic ship the United States, with a model and some memorabilia on display. Young guests will find spaces dedicated to them on deck 12 at the Entourage Teen Club, the nearby Cinema and the Video Arcade. For the youngest guests on board there is of course scheduled activities and areas dedicated just to them such as the Kid’s Pool and the Splash Academy on the Lido deck.

Dining is certainly a strong point for Norwegian Cruise Line, using the concept of Freestyle dining that ensures the highest flexibility for reservations as well as dining hours. Onboard the Norwegian Jade there are therefore numerous restaurants available for guests. The two main restaurants are located on deck 6, the first of which is the Grand Pacific Dining Room, on the stern, that has a classic style and a sea view. The second is the Alizar Main Dining Room that is also very large but with more simple and modern décor. We have already mentioned Le Bistro French Restaurant, the most elegant and refined dining on board, which is on the same deck at the center of the ship.

On deck 7 you will find the Sushi Bar and Teppanyaki served at the Jasmine Garden Asian Restaurant, an Asian dining option that is ubiquitous on board NCL ships.  Going up to deck 12 we find other alternatives. On the Lido is The Grill which serves poolside hamburgers and other specialties. The buffet restaurant on board is called the Garden Café. It is very bright and equipped with various stations. Outside on the stern there are sea view tables and more specialty stations. On the left of the ship, instead, you will find the Italian option which is also a tradition onboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships: La Cucina Italian Restaurant. On the deck above you will find Cagney’s Steakhouse and within the same room the Star Bar and the Modern Churrascaria.

The outdoor areas of the Norwegian Jade are ample and well distributed. On the Lido deck, next to the swimming pool, there are two Jacuzzis and numerous sunbeds. On deck 13 a bar serves drinks and snacks from the grill, which is great for those at the solarium which surrounds it. On deck 12 and 15 you will find the small Haven, which although small has all the necessary services. The Mandara Spa and the Fitness Center occupy the area at the bow on deck 12, and offer guests a beautiful wellness center and a gym with all the equipment necessary. A multipurpose sports area is on the stern of deck 13 along with a jogging path.

The Norwegian Jade allows you to try out the Freestyle package of Norwegian Cruise Line in complete relaxation, on a medium sized ship that has been renovated and is lively. Today the elegance and beauty of the ship’s interiors create the perfect blend of a classic environment with a cruising style that is completely free and informal.
