The second advanced ship of the Holland America Line Zuiderdam prototype, Nieuw Amsterdam stands out mainly from the latter for having half deck passenger cabins on the bow and an immense structure facing the funnel where new specialty restaurants are located.
Her hotel arrangement is modeled after New York (Nieuw Amsterdam in Dutch): with the subsequent remodel, several rooms have been updated. Following the removal of the disco, this ship has become a product more dedicated to people of a certain age who love the style of cruises from the past.
