SH Diana: A Symphony of Luxury and Adventure

With the SH Diana, Swan Hellenic introduces the third, latest, and largest ship in the fleet. Built in Helsinki, the expedition ship combines sustainability and luxury. Its approach, sustainability through hybrid diesel-electric engines and SCR catalysts, is a clear commitment to eco-friendly travel.

But Swan Hellenic goes beyond technical innovations. Its motto, “see what others don’t,” reflects the commitment to take travelers not only to special places but also to immerse them in local culture. Each journey offers a balance between exploring fascinating destinations and respecting the environment.

Design

The SH Diana can accommodate 192 passengers and 140 crew members. With its ice class PC 6, it is ready for the most challenging waters, from polar ice fields to tropical waters. The ship stands out for its sleek and bright design, both functional and aesthetically appealing. Highlights include the Swan’s Nest, a panoramic platform with a 360-degree view, and the Observation Lounge, a central meeting point for guests. The unique panoramic platform is the “Swan’s Nest” at the bow, offering a breathtaking 300-degree view of the surrounding sea. Here, guests can listen to the sound of the ocean, spot whales or dolphins, and experience the magic of nature. Docking in the port or witnessing sunrise and sunset becomes truly special in the “Swan’s Nest.”

Cabins with a View

The cabins of the SH Diana are spacious and meticulously furnished. Natural and bright colors, along with high-quality materials, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Large windows or balconies in most cabins allow guests to enjoy the view and directly experience the sea. In addition to the spacious cabins, suites offer extra space and exclusive amenities.

Onboard Culinary Offerings

The culinary offerings aboard the SH Diana reflect the visited regions. Under the guidance of Executive Chef Eddy Barretto, dishes combining local ingredients with international influences are created. The main restaurant and the Club Lounge Pool Bar and Grill offer diverse culinary experiences, from formal to informal, ensuring a journey for the palate. Special culinary cruises are also proposed.

Unique Itineraries

The itineraries of the SH Diana are carefully selected to offer unforgettable experiences to guests. Each journey is a unique adventure. Zodiacs and tenders allow reaching remote beaches and islands inaccessible to larger ships. These expeditions provide guests with the opportunity to get up close to pristine nature and cultural diversity.

Dream Islands in the Indian Ocean

A dream of blue and green unfolds during the cruise through the Indian Ocean aboard the SH Diana. From the dreamy beaches of the Seychelles to unique experiences up to Mombasa, the adventure begins in Victoria, the colorful capital of the Seychelles. It is the smallest capital in the world and, in addition to paradise beaches, offers much to discover. The expedition proceeds to the pristine beauties of the Outer Islands, including Poivre Island, a paradise for divers and nature lovers. The Aldabra Atoll, the world’s second-largest coral atoll, has been under protection since 1976 and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. This paradise is one of the most difficult places to reach in the world, known for its pristine coral reefs and the largest population of giant tortoises. Less than 1,000 people can visit the Aldabra Atoll each year, and the SH Diana has obtained one of the few permits. The flora and fauna have been able to develop almost undisturbed by humans. What we see during our expeditions on land and with the zodiac is unique!

At Assumption Island, we enjoy relaxing hours on the beach, Zanzibar impresses with its rich history of spices and the slave trade. Pemba Island fascinates with the unique Pemba bat, and Lamu, a treasure of Swahili culture, concludes the journey before ending in the lively Mombasa. Each stop on this cruise is an unforgettable chapter in a book full of natural wonders and cultural discoveries. “See what others don’t see!” Swan Hellenic’s motto becomes a vibrant reality in my journey.
