Windstar Cruises Introduces two new ships

Windstar Cruises, renowned for its luxury small-ship voyages, proudly announces the expansion of its fleet with the debut of two all-suite motor yachts, Star Seeker and Star Explorer. These additions signify Windstar’s commitment to delivering unparalleled experiences for travelers seeking refined luxury and intimate cruising.

Christopher Prelog, President of Windstar Cruises, expressed his excitement, stating, “Our aim was to ensure these vessels embody the unmistakable essence of Windstar. We’re thrilled to unveil Star Seeker and Star Explorer, marking a significant step forward in our journey to redefine luxury cruising.”

Scheduled for delivery in December 2025 and December 2026 respectively, Star Seeker and Star Explorer will feature 112 suites, each boasting full private verandas and infinity windows. Additionally, the ships will offer two new Owner’s Suites with expansive wrap-around balconies, providing guests with breathtaking panoramic views and exclusive amenities. With a capacity for 224 guests and a staff-to-guest ratio of 1:2, these vessels promise an intimate onboard experience coupled with personalized service.

Among the notable features of Star Seeker and Star Explorer are Windstar’s signature amenities, including the iconic Watersports Platform with innovative staircase access, the inviting Yacht Club café and lounge, a two-story spa and fitness facility, and an intimate forward whirlpool on the bow. Guests can also enjoy spacious open decks ideal for sunbathing and Windstar’s renowned deck barbeques. Maintaining Windstar’s commitment to exceptional cuisine, guests will savor upscale and inventive dishes in the re-imagined main dining room, Amphora, along with al fresco dining options at both Amphora and the Star Grill. A specialty restaurant and 24-hour room service further elevate the culinary experience.

Star Seeker and Star Explorer are equipped with ice-strengthened hulls, enabling access to new destinations. Advanced technology in safety, propulsion, and navigation, including pump jet thrusters and forward-facing Sonar, ensures a smooth and secure journey. Additionally, the ships prioritize environmental sustainability with advanced wastewater treatment systems and tier III Nox rated Rolls Royce engines.

Andrew N. Todd, President & CEO of parent company Xanterra Travel Collection, shared his enthusiasm for Windstar’s growth, stating, “Windstar Cruises is poised for remarkable growth and an exciting future ahead. We’re excited about the possibilities of where Windstar will sail and the opportunities it brings our officers, crew, staff, and our guests.”

In a related development, Windstar announces the return of Wind Star, one of its beloved Wind Class ships, to Tahiti in 2027, joining Star Breeze to meet the growing demand for French Polynesian sailings. Full itineraries and booking details for Star Seeker will be announced in late June 2024.
