Formula 1: Abu Dhabi and Monaco onboard Windstar

Windstar Cruises was one of the first companies to offer its guests cruise itineraries linked to the Monaco Grand Prix. In fact, since the 1990s, the line has been offering this type of experience to fans of the sport as well as cruise aficionados.

Windstar Cruises has decided to offer a great new Formula 1 experience again this year.

Not only during the final race of the 2023 season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next November, but also on its F1-themed cruise, which will include an excursion to the Monaco Grand Prix circuit!

The Monaco Grand Prix itinerary will be called Prix Roma du Monde di Monaco and is scheduled for May 21-28, 2023.

The cruise will take place onboard Windstar’s flagship: “Wind Surf” , a 342-passenger sailing yacht.

Throughout the cruise, you will have the opportunity to have a Formula 1 expert onboard to provide details and behind-the-scenes information.

A themed welcome cocktail and onboard dinner are also provided, as well as extras such as high-definition binoculars, comfortable seat cushions and ear protectors for loud noises.

Of course, guests will receive tickets with exclusive K-Selection seats for the time trials and the final race.

In the Middle East, on the occasion of the 2023 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix “Star Legend”.

The Star Legend’s 10-day maiden voyage, entitled “Glittering Sands and Persian Gulf Cities”, will depart Dubai on November 23, and during the overnight stay in Abu Dhabi, guests will be able to experience the highlight of the F1 season (on November 25 and 26) with premium grandstand seats, front row seats for the time trials and race, transfers to and from the Yas Marina Circuit, expert English-speaking guides and many onboard perks such as an exclusive cocktail party.

Passengers will also be able to follow the  event via F1® sportscaster Bob Varsha, who will provide in-depth coverage and analysis of the race and drivers.

Windstar President Christopher Prelog said: “I’m a big fan of F1® racing, and with the sport enjoying its highest ratings ever in the United States, more and more Windstar customers are also racing fans.”

“When we were planning our first cruises to the Middle East, which will begin in November, I was hoping that the 2023 cruise date would overlap. And we’re lucky: our maiden voyage to the Middle East coincides with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It’s a green flag for Windstar sailing in a new and exciting region, and a checkered flag for the 2023 racing season…a perfect combination.”
