Costa unveils its new 2027 itinerary concepts
Starting from summer 2027, Costa Crociere will introduce a new evolution of its Sea & Land Wonder Platform, with itineraries developed around thematic concepts that combine destinations, onshore experiences and navigation moments designed to highlight specific natural and cultural settings.
According to the company, this new approach stems from the growing demand for travel characterized by authenticity, immersive experiences and greater consistency across the different stages of the itinerary. The Sea & Land Wonder Platform, introduced in 2024, will continue to integrate Sea Destinations and Land Destinations within a single travel journey, enhancing the time spent at sea as an integral part of the experience.
Costa Crociere – Premiere
Francesco Muglia, Chief Commercial Officer and SVP of Costa Cruises, explained that the Sea & Land Wonder Platform, introduced in 2024, was created with the aim of enhancing every moment of the journey, both at sea and on land. According to Muglia, the results achieved have confirmed a growing interest among guests in authentic and meaningful experiences. Within this context, the new itinerary concepts debuting in summer 2027 are designed around a specific inspiration and developed as coherent routes combining symbolic locations and distinctive experiences. Muglia also highlighted that collected data shows that 85% of the trade considers experiential coherence a key factor in choosing an itinerary, while booking intent for the new concepts is growing by 5%. For the company, this evolution represents a further development of its offering model and confirms Costa’s role in innovation within the cruise product sector.
The summer 2027 program will introduce a series of itineraries identified by specific concepts. Among these is Dolce Vita, aboard Costa Fascinosa, which combines stops such as Taormina with the Sea Destination Stromboli Bay, where navigation offers views of the volcano at sunset. Also aboard Costa Fascinosa, Golden Islands will be offered, an itinerary including Palma de Mallorca, Formentera Bay at sunrise and Tavolara Natural Park, where guests may enjoy a sunset swim. The experience also includes Aranci Gulf, accompanied by live music entertainment during the golden hour.
In the Eastern Mediterranean, Blue Islands, operated by Costa Serena, will cross some of Greece’s most representative locations, including Mykonos, Athens and Cephalonia. The itinerary will also include the Sea Destination Cape Sounion, where navigation allows guests to admire from the sea the famous Temple of Poseidon overlooking the Aegean Sea, one of Greece’s most iconic classical landmarks.

The new collection will also include several concepts designed to highlight the characteristics of different cruising regions. Lights of the Mediterranean will accompany guests through some of the most evocative locations in the Western Mediterranean, from Barcelona to Carloforte to the Gulf of Naples, with particular attention to landscapes and atmospheres shaped by light at different times of day. Sea of Lights, in the Eastern Mediterranean, will instead offer an itinerary between Greece and Turkey, connecting destinations such as Rhodes and Istanbul along a route defined by the contrast between history, culture and natural scenery.
With Aegean Icons, guests will visit some of the region’s most renowned destinations, including Venice, Santorini and Mykonos, while Aegean Islands will focus on the discovery of major Greek islands, from Corfu to Crete and the Cyclades. Adriatic & Cyclades will combine some of the most popular destinations in the Adriatic and Aegean, with calls in Dubrovnik, Kotor and Zakynthos, while Seaside Dreams will offer a route between Argostoli, Bari and Split. In Northern Europe, Nordic Souls will bring the Sea & Land concept across fjords, coastal villages and Scandinavian cities, including stops such as Copenhagen, Bergen, Stavanger and the Geirangerfjord.
Among the confirmed highlights for 2027 is also the return of the Eclipse Cruise. Following the strong interest recorded for the 2026 edition, Costa Fascinosa will offer a new departure on 2 August 2027, giving guests the opportunity to observe a total solar eclipse from the sea along a specially designed itinerary for this astronomical event.

The Sea & Land philosophy is already central to the summer 2026 program. In the Western Mediterranean, aboard Costa Smeralda, Costa Toscana and Costa Pacifica, itineraries will visit some of the region’s most in-demand destinations, including Barcelona, Marseille, Palma de Mallorca, Palermo and Naples, alongside Sea Destinations designed to enhance the cruising experience. These include Capri Bay, where the ship anchors in front of the Faraglioni at sunset accompanied by live music, and sunrise in the Calanques National Park, when the first light of day illuminates the white cliffs of the French coast.
In the Eastern Mediterranean, aboard Costa Fascinosa, Costa Deliziosa and Costa Fortuna, itineraries will combine major cultural and artistic cities such as Athens, Istanbul and Dubrovnik with sea-based experiences designed to enrich the journey. These include Venice Lagoon, with a stop in the Venetian lagoon at sunset accompanied by a summer carnival; Calypso Deep, in the deepest point of the Mediterranean, where an evening performance draws inspiration from the mystery of the abyss; and Dardanelles Strait, where passage through the historic strait connecting Europe and Asia will be accompanied by a show dedicated to the tradition of the Whirling Dervishes.
In Northern Europe, Costa Diadema and Costa Favolosa will offer itineraries focused on the region’s major natural landscapes. Planned experiences include cruising the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO site famous for the Seven Sisters waterfalls, and Norwegian Sea in the Bergen fjord, where a guided meditation inspired by the Norwegian philosophy of Friluftsliv invites guests to reconnect with nature. Itineraries will also include calls at major Scandinavian cities and may extend to the Scottish Highlands, Iceland, North Cape and the Lofoten Islands, among some of Northern Europe’s most spectacular landscapes.
The autumn-winter 2026/2027 program will also continue to develop the Sea & Land concept across different regions. One of the main new features will be the debut of Costa Smeralda in the Canary Islands, with an eight-day itinerary across the volcanic Atlantic archipelagos, including an extended stay in Tenerife and the Canary Sea Darkest Spot, designed to offer guests the opportunity to observe the star-filled sky in one of the least light-polluted areas of the islands.

In the winter Mediterranean, Costa Pacifica will operate itineraries between Andalusia and North Africa, while in the Caribbean Costa Fascinosa and Costa Favolosa will enhance the travel experience with evening and nighttime Sea Destinations. These include Catalina Bay, where sunset sets the stage for onboard entertainment, and Caribbean Sea Darkest Spot, a location selected for stargazing thanks to its favorable conditions and minimal artificial light.
Completing the offering, Costa Toscana will continue in the Western Mediterranean, reintroducing from March 2027 the Balearic Sea Darkest Spot Sea Destination, reaffirming the company’s focus on experiences that enhance not only visited destinations but also the moments spent at sea.
