Silversea: new Itineraries in Australia and New Zealand

For this new year in 2024, Silversea‘s latest adventures transport travelers to the other side of the world, exploring Australia and New Zealand.

With the ships Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, and Silver Muse, one can visit the oldest indigenous lands alongside some of the world’s youngest cities. From spectacular fjords to captivating waterfalls, sandy beaches to the unique wildlife of the Great Barrier Reef, the experiences are diverse.

Depending on the chosen itinerary, there are various particularly interesting options. Classic routes include those offered by Silver Muse from “Melbourne to Auckland” and Silver Whisper from “Auckland to Sydney.” It is possible to explore New Zealand in-depth with stops at 9 ports, visiting cities such as Auckland, Kaikoura, Dunedin, and Wellington. Some itineraries include an extended two-day visit to Tasmania.

Departures from Sydney or Melbourne are diverse, having already begun in 2024 until March, and resuming from October to December, with plans to continue in 2025. Silversea can also provide cruises to lesser-known and distinctive ports, thanks to its ultra-luxurious small cruise ships that reach inaccessible places for larger vessels, covering almost 100 different destinations. Additionally, the onboard service maintains an almost 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio.

With Sydney or Melbourne as the embarkation and disembarkation base, Silversea’s ships also sail to more distant lands such as the famous Fiji Islands or Bali, as well as unforgettable destinations in Southeast Asia. Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, and Mumbai are among the many choices.

Highlighted among the proposed itineraries in the region is the “Sydney-Mumbai” route for its charm, unique culture, and diverse people encountered during the cruise. Departing in February with Silver Whisper, this 35-day voyage begins from the monument-filled shores of Sydney, heading north (Cairns and Darwin) before reaching the aquamarine waters of Bali.

Continuing the journey, there’s an opportunity to explore Singapore extensively with a two-day stop. Significant landmarks to capture include the Merlion, Marina Bay area, Ginger Gardens with spectacular tropical flowers, and the Fountain of Wealth, the world’s largest fountain.

Malaysia and Thailand bring travelers to a landscape and religious world vastly different from their own. The three days in Sri Lanka also offer a chance to discover the rich Buddhist culture and breathtaking landscapes.

Finally, the arrival in India includes Cochin, Murmugao (Goa), and Mumbai. A Tuk-tuk ride is a must in Cochin.

Don’t worry; disembarkation is scheduled for the day after arriving in Mumbai, allowing time for visits to Gateway India, Mani Bhavan (Gandhi’s house), and Elephanta Island.

Furthermore, a similar cruise will be available departing from Perth in March with the Silver Dawn.
