Scenic is putting Switzerland and its Alpine landscapes at the heart of its 2027 offering, responding to growing international demand for a destination that combines mountain scenery, lakes, historic cities and exceptional rail experiences. The company’s program features a 13-day journey through Switzerland, combining luxury accommodation, scenic rail travel and authentic culinary and cultural experiences.
Growing interest in Switzerland is also reflected in tourism figures. In 2025, the country recorded 43.93 million hotel overnight stays, a 2.6% increase compared with the previous year. The trend further highlights Switzerland’s appeal as a destination where nature, culture and rail travel can be brought together in a single travel experience.
At the heart of Scenic’s offering is Iconic Switzerland, a 13-day itinerary scheduled between May and September 2027, designed to explore some of the country’s most iconic destinations. Limited to a maximum of 28 guests, the journey takes in Alpine regions, lakeside destinations and Swiss cities, combining luxury accommodation, sightseeing, gastronomy and panoramic rail travel.
Among the highlights is a journey aboard the GoldenPass Express, travelling through Alpine landscapes, valleys and lakes while offering a privileged perspective on the Swiss countryside. The itinerary also reaches Jungfraujoch, known as Top of Europe, and includes a stay at Kempinski Palace Engelberg, at the foot of Mount Titlis, featured as a Scenic Special Stay. The journey also visits some of Switzerland’s most iconic destinations, from the Matterhorn and Grindelwald to the shores of Lake Geneva. The itinerary is therefore built around the diversity of the Swiss landscape, with the Alps at the heart of the experience.
Scenic’s journey goes beyond the discovery of Alpine landscapes, with the company also incorporating experiences focused on local traditions and gastronomy.
Guests can take part in a cheese-making class at a monastery and enjoy an authentic fondue experience. The itinerary also includes two Scenic Enrich experiences: a wine tasting among the vineyards surrounding Zurich and a risotto-making class on the shores of Lake Lugano. The program combines some of the country’s major attractions with more exclusive and immersive experiences, allowing guests to discover local traditions and flavours along the way.
The Iconic Switzerland itinerary forms part of a broader offering that combines Switzerland with selected Scenic river cruises in 2027. These include Rhine Highlights with Switzerland and Romantic Rhine & Moselle with Switzerland, both pairing a river cruise with a five-day land extension in Switzerland. For travellers seeking a longer journey, Scenic also offers a combination of the Romantic Rhine and Moselle cruise, the Iconic Switzerland land journey and the Enchanting Belgium extension, creating a 30-day experience across several European destinations.
