Ponant: cruises in France beginning in July

Ponant is restarting its cruise scheduling using six ships of the fleet, with itineraries to explore France and truly wonderful places to discover.

From the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, 5 departure ports for 5 different itineraries with a style that is similar to the concept of expedition cruises: few passengers, unusual stopovers, cultural insights and Zodiac boat excursions to discover nature. You won’t only explore marvelous and unusual places, but you will deepen your understanding through walks, bicycle tours, and observation of the flora and fauna. The same regions you will visit are also collaborating with the project, allowing the maximum synergy to make these new cruises unique and safe.

For Ponant this new venture for summer 2020 also means an unplanned return to its origins of 30 years ago when the Compagnie des Iles du Ponant opened for business. They are offering guests a chance to visit small gems close to home, but with the same enthusiasm and the same passion they offer when visiting other parts of the world, from the Arctic to Antarctica.

The 5 itineraries being offered for the summer of 2020 by Ponant represent a tribute to France and are the immediate expression of a gradual reopening starting with the closest locations, in the hope that exploration around the entire world will start back up soon. All the cruises will use just one port for embarking and disembarking, they will have less passengers than the maximum capacity on board, and will take you to truly hidden corners of France. Departure will be from Bordeaux, Saint Malo, Le Havre, Marseille, and Nice, for itineraries covering regions from Aquitaine to Brittany, from Normandy to the Mediterranean, including the island of Corsica like you’ve never seen before.

This is a great opportunity to savor the pleasure of cruising during a summer in which the regular scheduling of ships has been turned upside down, and to do so in a totally unique way: immersed in luxury and surrounded by the comforts provided by the Ponant fleet, discovering the small Mediterranean and French wonders in total safety.

All the details about the cruises are available on the → Ponant website. For information, more details and Reviews of Ponant check out the Cruising Journal Reports and articles.
