Explora II: all the itineraries for the inaugural season

Explora Journeys recently announced what new inaugural Explora II itineraries are available for booking.

Explora II will be launched in summer 2024, the second vessel in the Explora Journeys fleet, a luxury brand of the MSC Group. Between August 2024 and the end of April 2025 it will touch as many as 82 ports in 26 different countries. At each port of call, guests, through exclusive activities, will have the opportunity to explore exotic destinations while immersing themselves in sustainable and tailored experiences. In fact, all voyages are designed to stay longer in port, stay late and discover more. Slower travel rhythms, unconventional arrival and departure times, and the opportunity to spend more time in each destination, with overnight stays, will ensure guests discover local nature and cultures.

Explora II will first cross the Mediterranean Sea reaching ports in Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Israel and Croatia where guests can immerse themselves in the ancient history of each country. It will then continue to the Middle East, India, and the Indian Ocean to Africa where guests can explore renowned and even off-the-beaten-path places.

Michael Ungerer, managing director of Explora Journeys, commented, “This is a new chapter for the brand and we are extremely proud to unveil Explora II with these new itineraries. Our portfolio of destinations is continually expanding and we look forward to welcoming guests aboard our ships for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in incredible countries where they can reconnect with themselves through the people they meet, the surroundings and the local communities.”

An incredible array of cities with distinctive architecture, art and traditional colors will be part of these trips. From Rome, the Eternal City, Sicily, Menorca-the gastronomy capital of 2022-and then on to the Eastern Mediterranean with the islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Kalamata and Corfu. After exploring the magnificence of Israel, Explora II will cross the Suez Canal and allow its guests to enjoy the beauty of Egypt. The ship will then sail to Saudi Arabia and arrive in Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The new vessel will also reach the coast of India with the evergreen forests of the Western Ghati, and tea plantations to the beaches of Goa and the hinterland of Kerala and ending with Mumbai. The voyage of discovery will continue to Indian Ocean islands including Seychelles and Maldives before reaching Africa with stops in Mozambique, Tanzania, Madagascar, Kenya, Mauritius, and South Africa.

During each stop, guests are invited to linger longer and learn more about older or tribal cultures. One can relax on white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, admire wildlife, immerse oneself in the desert, or enjoy local handicraft markets. All of this will be possible by residing in especially well-kept “seaside homes” featuring elegant Swiss precision, modern European craftsmanship and vibrant design.
