Aurora Expeditions: 2022-23 season launched

Aurora Expeditions, Australia’s award-winning adventure cruise company, has launched its expanded 2022-23 season brochure for its Arctic, Antarctic and Global programs.

The season features 16 new and groundbreaking itineraries, plus Aurora Expeditions’ new state-of-the-art ship, the Sylvia Earle is also making its debut as part of the 2022-23 season.

Aurora Expeditions’ 2022-23 season is sure to provide the captivating and perspective-altering experiences our guests keep coming back for,” Monique Ponfoort, CEO of Aurora Expeditions, commented.

“Some of this season’s top destinations include Aurora Expeditions’ unique itineraries to Alaska, Northwest Passage, Ireland, West Papua and the Russian Far East. In addition, we are excited to return to the majestic Antarctica during our 30th year of operation.”

“Facilitating education, enrichment and discovery are key to Aurora Expeditions’ voyages. Our two fleet ships, the Greg Mortimer and Sylvia Earle are both new, beautifully furnished and use the latest technology, including the revolutionary Ulstein X-Bow® hull, which allows us to explore the farthest reaches of our planet smoothly and efficiently.”

Aurora Expeditions is proud to continue to offer our guests the opportunity to push their own boundaries in the most beautiful and remote places on earth, offering the most comprehensive activity programme with an unrivalled range of activities and led by the most experienced, professional and passionate expedition team in the industry,” continued Ponfoort.

“In line with Aurora’s commitment to environmental conservation and taking concrete action to care for the planet, we are also excited that our expanded Citizen Science programme will be launched across all of our voyages in 2022.”

“Travelling with Aurora Expeditions on the Sylvia Earle, I believe is an incredible opportunity for people to learn about these extraordinary marine habitats and as a result, become ambassadors to protect them,” commented Dr Earle who is a world-renowned oceanographer, marine biologist and explorer who has been involved in the development of the ship that is named after her and the conservation and environmental projects on board.

“It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the ocean and be connected to the places you go to, and not just go to absorb, but go to give back and share what you’ve learned elsewhere, connect with the locals and open your minds. It’s a great opportunity to embrace the world and see it with new eyes”.

In addition to Aurora’s extensive Antarctica program, unique new itineraries introduced in the 2022|23 season brochure include Aurora Expeditions‘ first voyages to Alaska on its own ships, the legendary Northwest Passage, the fascinating Russian Far East, the marine biodiversity hotspot of Raja Ampat and West Papua Islands as well as much more.
