Viking Eir

Viking Eir, constructed in 2015, accommodates 190 guests in its 95 cabins equipped with all amenities and has a staff of 50 people. Spread over 4 decks, the ship features various communal areas such as the restaurant, a library, the gift shop, a bar/lounge to relax and socialize, the Aquavit Terrace for alfresco dining, and a Sun Deck with a shaded seating area and a walking track.
The name derives from mythology; the goddess Eir is to many "the best of all physicians." However, scholars differ on the capacity in which she used her power. Some describe her as a healing goddess, caring for the sick and wounded in battle. Others see her as a Valkyrie on horseback, going into battle to decide which soldiers die and which live.
