Thurgau Saxonia: Simplicity and Calm Along the Elbe and Vltava
I wasn’t expecting much luxury from my cruise aboard the Thurgau Saxonia, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a simple and functional ship, perfect for those who enjoy a quiet, no-frills atmosphere. The relaxed pace of sailing between Saxony and Bohemia, with stops like Dresden and Litomerice, really allows you to appreciate the landscapes and the region’s rich history. Life on board feels familiar and comfortable—the crew is friendly, and the food is tasty and plentiful, though not gourmet. The excursions were well organized and never overcrowded, which I really appreciated. Ideal for travelers looking for a classic, relaxing, and affordable river cruise, without missing out on meaningful cultural experiences.
