Thurgau Arva

MS Thurgau Arva is the sixth newbuild launched by Thurgau Travel since 2022 and is expected to enter service on European rivers in summer 2028. The vessel will measure 135 metres in length and is designed to accommodate around 190 passengers. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with the hull expected to be completed by the end of the same year and the inaugural voyage planned for the third quarter of 2028. The interior concept draws inspiration from the Arve, the Swiss stone pine typical of the Alpine region. Warm-toned woods and natural materials will define a design intended to express a contemporary Swiss identity, deliberately moving away from the glossier finishes commonly found on many new river vessels. Cabins will start at approximately 16 m², while several suites of around 24 m² will be available on the middle and upper decks.

The gastronomic offer will include several restaurants, including an Open Kitchen concept, as well as flexible lounges that can also be used for private dining experiences. The spacious Sun Deck will feature a swimming pool, bar and barbecue area. A wellness area with steam bath and sauna, together with a fitness area, will also be available on board. Particular attention will be paid to energy efficiency. The project includes a heat recovery system, batteries that can be used during manoeuvring, Euro 6-compliant main engines, high-efficiency glazing and advanced air-conditioning systems. Thurgau Travel is also targeting Green Award Gold certification for MS Thurgau Arva. MS Thurgau Arva therefore represents another step in Thurgau Travel’s fleet renewal programme, combining increased capacity, a design inspired by Alpine tradition and new solutions aimed at reducing energy consumption and emissions.
