Andorinha

Launched in October 2019, MS Andorinha explores Portugal sailing along the Douro River: it is 80 meters long and features a sun deck with a central pool, a bar, and a truly luxurious design. The MS Andorinha has a total of 42 cabins, including 12 suites of 29 square meters and 20 cabins of 21 square meters. The remaining cabins have portholes positioned high on the wall along the river. All cabins have a private bathroom with a single sink and countertop, a shower with a glass door, a toilet, a multi-shower head, a hairdryer, premium bath products, a shaving socket, a comfortable bed, a large wardrobe, a lounge area with a low table and 2 chairs, free internet and WiFi, a minibar with complimentary soft drinks, a flat-screen TV with infotainment system (free internet in the room, on-demand movies, real-time bridge cam views), a makeup table with mirror and chair, a wireless telephone, an electronic safe in the wardrobe, complimentary bottled water provided daily, independently adjustable air conditioning, and power outlets (220 V/110 V). The suites also have a larger living area with a sofa bed and a larger bathroom with a bathtub.
With a capacity of 84 passengers, the MS Andorinha carries fewer travelers than most cruise ships on the Douro River: the ship has a higher-level staff to ensure that Tauck clients receive the highest level of service. Like all river ships chartered by Tauck, the Andorinha staff includes a Tauck cruise director plus three Tauck directors employed as tour guides.As main facilities, the ship has Compass Rose, the main dining room, and Arthur's Restaurant, the specialty/fine dining venue with indoor and outdoor seating, located aft on decks 3 and 4/Sun Deck. There is the Panorama Lounge, two bars, a large sun deck area on the upper deck with a heated outdoor pool mid-ship. Also on the Sun Deck aft is a shaded seating area covered by retractable awnings. Solar panels producing most of the electricity used on the ship are located forward near the navigation deck. The sun deck area is served by its own outdoor bar. Onboard, there is also a 24-hour reception, the cruise director's office, and a souvenir shop.
