Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours is a private cruise and tour company, founded by Australian businessman Glen Moroney in 1986. The first European river cruise took place in 2008 with the launch of its first river ship, the Scenic Sapphire. Onboard, guests are immersed in an unforgettable journey on small ships that can accommodate a maximum of 163 passengers, with all-inclusive treatment covering all meals, beverages, onshore excursions, round-trip flights, as well as all tips, transfers, and taxes. The minibar is replenished daily, bottled water is provided for all excursions, and onboard chefs prepare picnics.
In addition to having innovative, luxurious, and technological ships, another source of pride for Scenic Cruises is the excursions, expertly led by local guides with the ability to immerse guests in the visited location and guide them through less-known and more exclusive paths. All onboard accommodations are generously sized suites, providing space and freedom in ultimate comfort. In the newest ships, most cabins don't have the classic French Balcony but feature a true balcony called Sun Lounge, which, with the simple touch of a button, transforms into a private sunroom.
Luxuriously furnished, the suites offer a range of luxury amenities and accessories with elegant furnishings, spacious bathrooms equipped with premium toiletries, and pillow menus. There is also a safe and complimentary Wi-Fi. Scenic adheres to the highest hygiene standards, and the ships are equipped with advanced air circulation systems that ensure no recirculation of indoor air on board. The company offers cruises on nine rivers, including major European rivers, the Irrawaddy and Mekong rivers in Southeast Asia, as well as the Volga in Russia.
