The Luxury of Sailing and Time Well Spent
Stepping aboard Sea Cloud Spirit, it immediately becomes clear that this is not a traditional cruise. Here, the heart of the experience is sailing and a direct connection with the sea, rather than constant entertainment. Days unfold without rush, filled with moments of quiet observation, informal conversations, and long hours spent outdoors. The Lido Deck quickly became my favorite place: dining while watching the sails fully unfurled or enjoying a drink as the horizon stretches endlessly is an essential part of the journey. The service is warm and personal, made possible by the ship’s intimate size. Before long, the crew recognizes habits and preferences, always attentive yet never intrusive. Dining is elegant and European in style, with well-presented dishes and quality ingredients, although not every course impressed me equally, and the pace of service may feel slow for those used to a more dynamic rhythm.
