A 10-Day Expedition aboard Coral Discoverer
The 10-day cruise along Australia’s Kimberley Coast aboard the Coral Discoverer was one of the most authentic and remote experiences I’ve ever had. Unlike larger floating resorts, this ship carries around 70 passengers, creating an intimate and relaxed atmosphere throughout the journey. The service was exceptional: the crew was warm and attentive, the meals were gourmet and inspired by Australian flavors, and the accommodations were simple yet very comfortable. But the true highlight was the immersive connection with nature – from breathtaking waterfalls like King George Falls to ancient, time-carved canyons, Aboriginal rock art sites, and sightings of extraordinary wildlife including saltwater crocodiles, sea eagles, and dugongs. Zodiac excursions and guided hikes were well-organized and led by knowledgeable, passionate guides. The ability to explore places inaccessible by land made this cruise truly one-of-a-kind.
