MSC Splendida: Elegance and Comfort

MSC Splendida is one of MSC’s Fantasy Class ships, able to accommodate 3,274 passengers. It joined the MSC Cruises fleet in 2009.

There is no shortage of elegance, luxury, and comfort onboard.

MSC Splendida‘s main attraction is its atrium, spanning three decks, with a grand staircase encrusted in Swarovski crystal, large Murano glass chandeliers, and panoramic elevators. There are several bars in the atrium beyond the reception and shore excursion desks where you can sip a drink to the tunes of piano music and shop at the ship’s various stores.

Guests have many options for drinks beyond the atrium, the “heart” of the ship. That’s because MSC Splendida has 19 options, including bars and lounges, mostly located on Decks 6 and 7.

Among these, we find Purple Jazz, Enoteca for sports fans, there is the “Sport Bar,” a meeting place for those who want to watch sports events on TV, the Aft Lounge with dance floor and live music, L’Espresso, the open-air Tartaruga Bar located on Deck 14, and The Cigar Lounge, an elegant environment where you can relax with a good cigar.

MSC Splendida has two main restaurants offering table service dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This dining experience is reserved for guests for the entirety of their cruise. The first of the two main restaurants is La Reggia, which is spread over two levels on Decks 5 and 6. The second is Villa Verde, located on Deck 6, aft, with a panoramic view. The ship’s complimentary buffet is open 20 hours a day from 6:00 am to 2:00 am.

MSC Splendida also features themed restaurants for an additional charge, such as Butcher’s Cut, which offers excellent meat options in an American steakhouse setting, and the Sea Pavilion, an Asian restaurant.

The Piazzetta, included in the price of the cruise, is where guests can delight in sweets, delicious cakes, or savory snacks. There is also an ice cream parlor where guests pay for what they get. The ship has a “shopping street” in the evening with several stands offering bags, jewelry, and other accessories from major brands.

As for entertainment, MSC Splendida offers opportunities for all tastes! There is The Strand Theater, on Decks 6 and 7, where singers, jugglers, and acrobats perform twice every night.

The Royal Palm Casino, located on Deck 6, offers games like roulette, blackjack, poker, and slots machine. There is Club 33, where disco lovers can dance the night away. Children will enjoy the ship’s virtual reality area, where there is a Formula 1 simulator, among other games.

MSC Splendida has three swimming pools that are surrounded by whirlpools. One swimming pool is located at the ship’s stern, away from the music and daily entertainment activities. The main swimming pool is located on Deck 14, midship, where games, dance lessons, and poolside parties are held. The third swimming pool, called L’Equatore, is indoors. It has a retractable roof and is perfect for winter.

For sports enthusiasts, MSC Splendida offers a free gym, a field for squash lovers, and a “Power Walking”’ track.

Guests who want to relax and rejuvenate can visit the MSC Splendida spa, with a sauna, Turkish bath, solarium, and whirlpool. Various treatments are also available. The Top 18 Exclusive Solarium is also onboard, an area reserved for adults, where you can relax, sunbathe in your personal bed, and take advantage of many dedicated services.

Finally, for those who want a top holiday, MSC Splendida also has the exclusive Yacht Club with a private restaurant called L’olivo, a library, “The One Pool” with an adjoining bar and Top Sail Lounge with panoramic views.
