Description

The Dahabeya is a traditional sailing vessel that offers an intimate and atmospheric way to discover the Nile, evoking the way people travelled along the river in the time of the pharaohs. Unlike large river cruise ships, it provides a more exclusive experience, with small groups and stops in peaceful locations away from the main tourist ports. The itineraries generally run between Luxor and Aswan, passing through landscapes characterised by palm groves, river islands, villages and lush oases along the banks of the Nile. During the journey, guests can visit important archaeological sites, ancient Egyptian temples and local markets, accompanied by a German-speaking guide. On board, the atmosphere is informal and relaxed. The vessels generally feature two decks, including a sun deck equipped with loungers, seating areas and shaded canopies, as well as an air-conditioned indoor lounge and dining area.
