Description

Iona is a ship in the Excellence class in service for P&O Cruises, built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg and delivered in October, 2020. It is the largest ship in the P&O Cruises fleet, weighing more than 180 thousand tons and the first of two ships of its kind to be delivered by 2022. The Iona has 17 different restaurants, including eight “select dining” restaurants and 12 different bars. It has 16 whirlpool hot tubs and four swimming pools, one of which will be part of the SkyDome. The SkyDome is an entertainment venue covered by a 105-ton, 340-panel, 970-square-meter glass dome that also features a movable stage for shows. Powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the Iona is designed for maximum efficiency and protection of the environment.
