Description
The expedition ship Plancius was built in 1976 as an oceanographic research unit for the Royal Dutch Navy under the name of the Hr. Ms. Tydeman. The ship sailed for the Dutch navy until June 2004 and was eventually bought by Oceanwide Expeditions and rebuilt as a passenger ship in 2009. It can accommodate 108 passengers in 4 quadruple cabins with portholes, 2 triple cabins with portholes, 9 double cabins with portholes, 25 double cabins with windows, 2 deluxe twin cabins and 10 spacious superior twin cabins.
The ship offers a restaurant/conference room on deck 3 and a large observation lounge with bar on deck 5. Plancius also offers large outdoor spaces and a nice walk-around path on deck 4.
