Description

The PS Canberra is a historic Australian paddle steamer, built in 1913 in Goolwa, South Australia, for river transport and fishing. With a length of approximately 22.6 metres and a width of 4.6 metres, it is one of the most representative historic vessels on the Murray River. The vessel is characterised by its composite wood-and-steel hull and a wood-fired steam engine dating back to 1923. After serving in various commercial activities, it has been used for river tourism since 1944. Restored in 2002–2003 and returned to steam propulsion, it has become an important testament to the history of inland navigation in Australia.
