Monarch Empress

Built in 2015, the Monarch Empress is the newest of four river ships operated by Philadelphia-based tour operator Gate 1 Travel and the first to be built for the company. It has a maximum capacity of 140 passengers and features 70 spacious outside cabins, including 56 with French balconies, each fully air-conditioned and with private bathrooms. On board are several entertainment areas, such as bar-lounge, restaurant, aft lounge, solarium, putting green, fitness center, basic wi-fi throughout the ship and 24/7 coffee/tea station. < br> Monarch Empress sails on Dutch waterways, the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers; and offers itineraries, including spring cruises in the Netherlands and cruises that can be combined with shore tours.
