Silversea and Duval-Leroy: An Icon of Luxury

Silversea, the ultra-luxury cruise company, has formed a partnership with Duval-Leroy, a champagne house in the Cote des Blancs region of France, introducing this luxury icon across its entire fleet.

Duval-Leroy is a long-standing, independent, family-run producer of refined champagnes with six generations of experience, whose core values align perfectly with those of Silversea, which are to offer exceptional quality, deep attention to detail, and a great passion for their craft. Located in the heart of the Cote des Blancs, in Vertus, Champagne, encompassing over two hundred hectares of vineyards—mostly planted with Chardonnay on plots classified as “Grand Cru” or “Premier Cru”—the house has been producing exceptional wines since 1859, showcasing the region’s outstanding qualities and setting high standards for superior tasting quality.

Silversea has begun by introducing Duval-Leroy Brut Réserve as its preferred champagne aboard its ultra-luxury ships, which will be the complimentary champagne of the brand and will greet guests upon arrival in their suites. The Duval-Leroy family has perfected the quality of its non-vintage Brut Réserve since 1859, blending passion and aesthetic sensitivity. Aged on its lees for 30-36 months, it comprises 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier, and 10% Chardonnay. Floral with complex aromas of almonds and toasted bread, the Brut Réserve is perfectly balanced between finesse and power on the palate, developing flavors of citrus and fruit, such as apple and pear.

“When selecting a champagne, consideration of quality is paramount,” said Lawrence d’Almeida, Silversea’s wine ambassador. “For Silversea, this begins with choosing the right partner. And Duval-Leroy was, for us, a natural choice. It is a long-standing family company, always focused on achieving the highest quality. With Silversea, they share an uncompromising commitment to excellence, achieved through attention to detail and passion.”

Other Duval-Leroy champagnes will also be available on board; Duval-Leroy Rosé Prestige Premier Cru will be offered to guests in the upper suites upon embarkation, while Duval-Leroy Femme de Champagne 2002 will also be available on the paid Connoisseur wine list.

Champagne is provided complimentary aboard each of Silversea’s ships, except for Silver Origin, where sparkling wine is served as part of one of the most comprehensive all-inclusive offerings at sea. Guests will continue to enjoy premium liquors, butler service in every suite category, excursions, gourmet dining in a wide range of restaurants, and more.
