New National Geographic Explorer Suites

Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic, the world leader and pioneer of expeditions to the world’s wildest and most remote places, has announced details of the new National Geographic Explorer Suites.

The refurbishment of the National Geographic Explorer took place at the Astilleros Canarios (ASTICAN) shipyard in Spain. The eight new suites were designed in collaboration with Hamburg-based interior design firm Partner Ship Design and built by Swedish ship supplier HF Interior.

The redesigned suites better reflect the bold and elegant Scandinavian design that has been a hallmark of the Polar brand fleet since the debut of National Geographic Endurance and National Geographic Resolution.

Light oak wood juxtaposed with bronze elements, combined with beautifully soft textured fabrics in shades reminiscent of water, make the suites the ideal elegant and refined retreat after a day spent immersed in the adventure of the expedition.

“For many, National Geographic Explorer, with its rich polar heritage, represents the paradigm of an expedition ship,” said Ana Esteves, Vice President of Hotel Operations for Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic.

“The stunning new interior enhancements to her suites perfectly relate National Geographic Explorer back to our other purpose-built ice-class ships, while creating a unique air of distinction and highlighting what makes this ship a staple in the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet.”

In addition to the aesthetic enhancements, all suites have benefited from a major technological upgrade with the addition of a command center equipped with state-of-the-art instruments; a barometer and National Geographic atlas, an LG television that broadcasts entertainment and live navigation, an espresso machine, universal power outlets and multiple USB ports for cameras and other devices. Exclusive artwork completes the wonder of these suites.

In addition to unveiling the new suites on National Geographic Explorer, the brand also unveiled a new Suite Exclusives package available on the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet.

With this new package, guests booked in the specified cabin categories will have access to a number of services and benefits designed to enhance their onboard experience, including

– An exclusive welcome gift upon boarding:

– Priority reservations for spa and wellness treatments

– An in-room espresso machine

– Complimentary laundry service

The brand has also introduced a new suite of exclusive fleet-wide services.
