Cunard: New and Exclusive Show

The luxury cruise company Cunard, in partnership with Simon Friend Entertainment, has announced the performance of the extraordinary show, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, by Deborah Moggach, aboard the flagship Queen Mary 2 from 15 to 22 December 2022.

The show’s star actors are celebrated stage and screen stars: Hayley Mills who plays Evelyn, Paul Nicholas who plays Douglas, and Rula Lenska who plays Madge.

“Cunard is thrilled to offer our guests this exclusive performance at sea aboard our flagship Queen Mary 2 along with the opportunity to meet the show’s starred cast. This ‘Cunard Only’ moment offers guests carefully thought out experiences and memories that will last a lifetime,” said Matt Gleaves, VP, Commercial – North America and Australia for Cunard.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a cheery comedy about taking risks, finding love, and embracing second chances, even in the most surprising places.

Show producer Simon Friend commented, “I am terribly thrilled that our production is starting this adventure. Cunard’s rich history is one of elegance that ties in perfectly with the most intrepid travelers, and therefore it is extremely flattering to be associated with this company. Since the show is based on exploring the world and finding oneself, I hope that cruise passengers will identify with it while watching on the go!”

The show, currently in production at London’s Richmond Theater, will consist of three matinees and three evening shows at the ship’s Royal Court theater during the seven-day transatlantic voyage. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a behind-the-scenes question and answer session, as well as workshops and other star cast appearances.

“I thought I did it all, but performing on the Queen Mary 2 in the North Atlantic is going to be an incredibly exciting new adventure for me and the whole company,” said Hayley Mills.

Based on the bestselling novel that inspired one of the most acclaimed films of this century, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel takes us on a journey to India with an eclectic group of British retirees as they embark on a new life. The luxury residence is far from their promised opulence, but when their lives begin to intertwine and embrace the vibrancy of modern India, they are unexpectedly enthralled and swept away.
