How to dress on Cunard? Adele’s advice

Cruising with Cunard? Wondering what to pack? Here is advice about what to leave at home and what you absolutely must bring!

Cunard Line offers its passengers British style hospitality, characterized by a luxurious atmosphere, so clothing on board is generally formal even during the day. The company attracts middle-aged couples but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t also appealing to younger people who love elegance, peace, and…reading!!

But…let’s get to the point!

Aboard Cunard you can forget about shorts and ripped jeans …instead leave space for cardigans, straight-legged pants, bellbottoms, capris and palazzo pants.

From the time in the afternoon when aperitifs are served, give up the casual clothing (don’t worry, the staff will let you know if your outfit is not suited to the place you are entering!) and have fun dressing up in the most elegant clothing you brought. Hats, feathers, and accessories of every kind are allowed…just be sure not to overdo it…

Summer Cruise: my suitcase (10 days)

4 pairs of shorts

3 pairs of long pants (for example: capris)

6 shirts

1 jacket

2 evening gowns

3 cocktail dresses

1 pair of heels

1 pair of jeweled flip-flops or sandals

1 pair of flip-flops (to use at the pool or spa)

Bathing suits…bathing suits…bathing suits

Accessories (as many as you want)

1 pair of pajamas

? lingerie

Lastly, my tips for always having the right things packed!

AVOID: RIPPED JEANS (they clash with the elegant surroundings and you will feel scrutinized)

DON’T FORGETSHAWLS (they are always useful, either while going for a walk on the outside deck or to dress-up your evening gown)

PURCHASE ONBOARDSTRAW HAT (beautiful, start a trend at the pool…)

I hope my advice has been helpful … happy cruising and have a wonderful experience with Cunard.
