Fun and relaxation aboard Msc Splendida (part 3)

Welcome to the third installment of the experience aboard Msc Splendida, we are halfway through the journey and as when a cruise is coming to an end, I am already feeling a little nostalgic!

But, have you read the first and second parts? If the answer is no, run and do so! And enjoy the continuation!

Gala evening

The most anticipated evening of the cruise has arrived, long, sparkling dresses and lots of photos in the stunning Swarovski staircases of Msc Splendida that are taken by storm for this occasion!

The gala evening is still not back to normal, there was no classic dance with the officers, but the usual cocktails offered in the lobby bars and the presentation of the captain and officers before the show at the theater. The evening, however, continued with the gala dinner, a more unusual dinner with many seafood courses…and a few surprises! As you are almost to dessert the restaurant lights dim and a parade of waiters starts as they hold up the evening’s dessert, with music playing in the background as all the guests wave handkerchiefs.

After dinner continued in the same way every night, music and piano bar in the different bars on the ship, while at the aft lounge there was always animation that entertained with dancing, games or karaoke night. Although the mechanism is always the same, the important thing is that you had a way to choose your perfect night given the many bars present with a wide range of musical genres.

Syracuse

After a long quiet sailing here we are in Syracuse, I must say that I decided to spend this vacation in total relaxation and in fact even on this day I stayed on board. I have done several cruises in the Mediterranean so sometimes I like to repeat them just to enjoy the ship!

So I decided to take a tour around the ship, I visited the aft pool for a moment, I don’t like that one at all. It is supposed to be a calmer place, away from the music, away from the chaos, away from the animation, but actually both the pool and its bar were super crowded, it was not a totally relaxing situation at all.

Passing through the disco, I instead found a surprise! This one has been renovated, in fact now the disco has been halved in size to make room for the Asian Sea Pavilion restaurant. While the other thematic restaurant, Butcher’s Cut, has remained the same as before.

The spa, on the other hand, is tiny, but still elegant, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, basically though small you find everything you need to spend a few hours relaxing. Also as a gold member you get to spend an hour in the spa area for free!

Piazzetta by night

The little square in addition to being my favorite place for the cakes that are served, was also the heart of shopping, where every evening in addition to the different stores you found many stands with different offers on handbags, jewelry and many other branded accessories! It was hard to hold back and not take advantage of these offers. And according to you I could miss these bargains? (I would say definitely not)

Next door was the casino, which was always very busy and where I occasionally enjoyed playing a little bit with those little machines full of coins and prizes. I am not a big player so I could never take part in a poker table!

The theater

The shows at the theater were always quality, both the dance troupe and the singers were really good! Most impressive to me was the trio brother’s, with spectacular acrobatics! The entertainment team also performed one night at the theater, in the variety show, with a mix of dances and cute skits that entertained the entire theater! While I’m at it, I have to dedicate a space to these fantastic guys who throughout the week with their smiles and grit, manage to brighten up any time of the day! I must say that I really like Msc Cruises‘ hospitality and entertainment.

Fellow cruisers, this is the end of my story for today; I look forward to seeing you next week to conclude this journey together.
