World Traveller Embarks on Her Inaugural Season

On November 19, 2022, Atlas Ocean Voyages’ newest yacht-style ship World Traveller came together with her sister ship for the first time ever at a special Dual Naming Ceremony.

Celebrations in the Beagle Channel’s Glacier Alley, including Zodiac safaris around the stunning Pia and Garibaldi Glaciers, invoked a sense of awe and wonder as fellow explorers connected with one another amid this remote destination.

“Both yacht-style vessels specialize in expeditions to some of nature’s most spectacular destinations,” said James Rodriguez, Atlas’ president and CEO. “What a historic weekend for Atlas! It was inspiring to name these two spectacular ships surrounded by majestic glaciers.”

With a champagne reception and unveiling the portraits of the ships’ godmothers amid the extraordinary Chilean fjords, the naming ceremony perfectly encompassed Atlas’ explorer spirit within an atmosphere of relaxed luxury. The yacht-style expedition amid the pristine Patagonia environment encouraged moments of intimacy for a highly personal, life-changing experience.

After a special, two-day celebration amid the glacial landscapes of Chile, World Traveller embarked on her maiden voyage to Antarctica on November 21, 2022. Voyaging through the Drake Passage, the ship’s captain expertly navigated to remote landings amid the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula.

Atlas Ocean Voyages’ newest polar-class ship continues her inaugural season in the Seventh Continent, including expeditions that cross the Antarctic Circle, all the way through March.
From Antarctica, World Traveller takes Guests on intimate, yacht-style cruises to the best of the Mediterranean. Aboard 7- to 9-night voyages, explorers will immerse themselves in captivating destinations such as Seville, Lisbon, Barcelona, Nice, Rome and many more. Opportunities for water sports directly from the ship in several ports gives Guests the chance to explore hidden coves for more personal experiences.

The new ship continues her inaugural season with cruises to the Norwegian Fjords, Iceland and Greenland, as well as expeditions to the Arctic. Explorations amid remote landings in Svalbard bring Guests closer to incredible wildlife such as the elusive polar bear, reindeer, walrus, various seabird species and other wonderful fauna.

Following the Midnight Sun around Iceland, World Traveller continues onto the British Isles and Northern Europe. Explorers can delve into the rich history and cultures of Ireland, Scotland, France, Portugal and other entrancing destinations before the ship returns to Antarctica for her next season.

More overnights and late departures throughout these voyages allow Guests more time for deeper immersions that create a highly personalized travel experience. Atlas invites explorers to find their moment aboard an intimate, yacht-style cruise on the newest addition to their growing fleet.
