Viking is expanding its European river fleet with the arrival of the Viking Haki, the company’s newest vessel, officially taken delivery of on October 28, 2026.
With a capacity of 190 guests and 95 staterooms, the vessel joins Viking’s award-winning fleet of Viking Longships, alongside the company’s other sister ships. The Viking Haki will operate some of the company’s most popular itineraries along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, further strengthening the group’s presence in the European river cruise market.
The new ship stands out for its Scandinavian design and a range of technical and architectural features that characterise the Viking fleet. These include the patented square bow, designed to accommodate three full decks, as well as the Aquavit Terrace, a space combining indoor and outdoor areas. The asymmetrical corridor layout also allows for suites with two separate rooms, making more efficient use of the spaces dedicated to guests.

The Viking Haki will operate several of the company’s itineraries, including Rhine Getaway, Grand European Tour, Danube Waltz and Tulips & Windmills, as well as Christmas Market cruises. These itineraries will allow passengers to explore some of Europe’s leading river destinations, combining scenic landscapes, historic cities and local traditions.
The delivery of the Viking Haki is part of Viking’s broader long-term growth plan, aimed at consolidating its position in the experiential travel sector. Based on its confirmed orders, the company expects to take delivery of a further 17 river ships by 2028, 11 ocean ships by 2032 and two additional expedition ships by 2031.
Once all scheduled deliveries have been completed, the fleet will comprise 114 river ships in 2028 and 28 ocean and expedition ships by 2032. This development programme reflects the company’s intention to continue expanding its offering and broaden travel opportunities in different parts of the world.
