The exclusive Scenic Eclipse helicopter excursion

For the first time, the exclusive Scenic Eclipse expedition ship will offer guests the opportunity to embark on a helicopter excursion and connect with more than 5,000 pairs of emperor penguins on Snow Hill Island.

Discovered only in the 1990s and located on the edge of the Antarctic Circle, Snow Hill Island is accessible only by helicopter. Scenic Eclipse is one of the few cruise lines capable of making an excursion to this remote region of the Antarctic Peninsula.

The island boasts soaring icebergs and impenetrable walls of ice, this location is generally visited exclusively by scientists but starting from December 2022, depending on weather and operational conditions, guests aboard Scenic Eclipse will have the opportunity to experience this unforgettable excursion.

The excursion was meticulously planned to coincide with the end of the penguin breeding season and marks the perfect time to spot baby penguins preparing for their first forays into the Southern Ocean.

On Scenic Eclipse there will also be Zodiac at guests’ disposal, two luxury helicopters, a submarine for six people and expert guides always ready to answer all questions, even from the most curious guests.

To be among the first to witness this beautiful show, you can book the 19-day trip to Antarctica and the Weddell Sea, with flights from Buenos Aires. All cruises aboard Scenic Eclipse are fully all-inclusive, new bookings are also covered by Scenic‘s flexible booking policy.
