Seven Seas Prestige: Regent Ushers in a New Era

Regent Seven Seas Cruises celebrated a historic milestone with the technical launch of Seven Seas Prestige, the first vessel of the new and highly anticipated Prestige Class.

The event, marking the debut of Regent’s first new class of ships in a decade, took place on November 27, 2025, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, officially initiating the final phase of construction for a ship set to redefine the very concept of luxury cruising.

The moment Seven Seas Prestige touched the water for the first time was described as “extraordinary” by Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, who emphasized that this achievement is the result of years of planning and collaboration with Fincantieri. Montague also revealed that launch day became the company’s largest single-day booking record for a new ship, a clear reflection of the high expectations of discerning travelers.

During the ceremony, Brunetta Casara of Fincantieri served as Godmother, performing the traditional champagne bottle breaking against the hull and cutting the ceremonial ribbon following the shipyard chaplain’s blessing. With the flooding of the dock, the technical launch was officially completed. Marco Spiga, Senior Director and Project Manager at Regent, then expressed his gratitude to Fincantieri for its ongoing support and strong partnership.

The ship has now been moved to the outfitting berth, where interiors will take shape: sumptuous suites, elegant lounges, specialty restaurants, and all spaces that will define the Regent ultra-luxury experience.

The official debut is scheduled for December 2026, when Seven Seas Prestige will become the seventh ship in the fleet and the first of three new Prestige Class vessels. Subsequent ships will be delivered in 2030 and 2033, marking the beginning of an ambitious expansion plan to strengthen the company’s global leadership. With a gross tonnage of 77,000 and a maximum capacity of 822 guests, served by 630 crew members, the ship will offer one of the highest space-to-guest and crew-to-guest ratios in the industry. At 40% larger than previous Regent ships but accommodating only 10% more guests, it will maintain the brand’s signature concept of Unrivaled Space at Sea®.

The inaugural season will feature 13 exclusive itineraries across Europe and the Caribbean, ranging from 10 to 15 nights, including two transatlantic crossings, overnight stays in culturally rich cities such as London, Lisbon, and Bordeaux, unique calls at Regent’s private island Harvest Caye (Belize), and two transits of the Panama Canal.

All accommodations will include private balconies and usher in a new era of ultra-luxury hospitality. The 12 suite categories, including four completely new designs, will offer unprecedented levels of space and refinement. Highlighted among these is the Skyview Regent Suite, set to become the largest all-inclusive suite ever built in luxury cruising history. Complementing it will be the Skyview Suites, spectacular two-level duplexes with private terraces and internal elevators for an unparalleled residential-style experience. Equally impressive are the Grand Loft Suites, defined by soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows for extraordinary natural light. Finally, the Horizon Penthouse Suites will offer expansive outdoor spaces, designed for superior open-air comfort and privileged views of the sea.

Public areas will be complemented by exclusive spaces such as the Starlight Atrium and the sophisticated Galileo’s Bar, alongside an expanded culinary offering including Azure, a new Mediterranean-style mezze restaurant, part of a total of 11 dining experiences and seven specialty restaurants.

Seven Seas Prestige will further elevate the standards of Regent’s all-inclusive experience, offering a level of completeness few brands in the world can match. Guests will enjoy unlimited shore excursions at every port, along with gourmet cuisine served across numerous specialty restaurants and refined outdoor spaces. Premium wines and spirits will always be included on board, alongside a rich program of entertainment and activities designed to ensure a flawless experience at every moment of the day. The ship will also feature Starlink WiFi, valet laundry service, prepaid gratuities, and even a pre-cruise overnight stay for guests in Concierge suites and higher categories.

This array of thoughtful amenities not only defines the essence of the Regent experience but also further strengthens the company’s reputation as the undisputed leader of the world’s most luxurious fleet.

The launch of Seven Seas Prestige represents far more than a mere milestone in shipbuilding: it marks the beginning of a new generation of ultra-luxury ships destined to redefine the sea travel experience for decades. With larger spaces, unmatched all-inclusive services, revolutionary suites, and guest-centric design, the Prestige Class will usher Regent into a new chapter, offering travelers worldwide a level of exclusivity and comfort never before achieved.
