Seven Seas Grandeur: Regent’s new flagship

Regent Seven Seas Cruises announced today the name of its future flagship: the Seven Seas Grandeur. The delivery of the sixth ship in the Regent fleet is planned for the fourth quarter of 2023.

Jason Montague, the President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, revealed the name in an emotional video, during which the beautifully reinvented design of the Compass Rose, the cruise company’s signature restaurant, was also unveiled.

“The Seven Seas Grandeur is the latest evolution of luxury in cruising. Its refined style, incomparable elegance and breathtaking beauty will surpass all the expectations of even our most demanding clients,” said Montague in the video.

The Seven Seas Grandeur will be able to host 750 guests and will have a gross tonnage of 55,254 tons, with a space & staff to guest ratio that will be among the highest in the industry. It will be the sister ship of the Seven Seas Explorer, the most luxurious ship ever built, and the Seven Seas Splendor, the ship that perfected luxury.

Further details about the suites, restaurants, services and onboard experiences onboard the Seven Seas Grandeur will be revealed before its debut and reservations for the inaugural season will open on September 22, 2021.

Now let’s take a closer look at the details. The Compass Rose onboard the Seven Seas Grandeur, the specialty restaurant of the company, was designed by the award winning Studio DADO.

“All the restaurants on board Regent ships are exquisite, but for the Compass Rose of the Seven Seas Grandeur we wanted to create a space that would be a real joy to behold,” said Yohandel Ruiz, founding member of Studio DADO.

“The new design of the Compass Rose will spark a sense of curiosity and wonder in guests even before they have set foot in the restaurant or tried the delicious dishes.”

The entrance of the new Compass Rose will feature a delicate waterfall sculpture modeled with laser cut metal and hand blown glass. Once inside, guests will be greeted by a woven crystal canopy and illuminated trees that will give the impression of dining in a beautiful and enchanted forest.

When the sun sets, guests will be amazed by the extraordinary lighting in the floor and ceiling. The restaurant will offer new dishes every day and will also offer an extensive vegan and vegetarian menu.
