Royal Group: seventh Oasis-class ship ordered

Royal Caribbean Group has signed an agreement with French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique to order a seventh Oasis-class ship to be delivered to the Royal Caribbean International fleet in 2028.

“As we eagerly anticipate the debut of Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas this summer, we are already dreaming of her sister ship and upcoming installation in the brand’s extremely popular Oasis Class,” said Jason Liberty, Royal Group President and CEO Caribbean. “Across our three brands, we focus on continually challenging ourselves to deliver the best vacation experience.”

Today’s announcement follows Royal Caribbean Group’s recent introduction of three new ships, including Silver Nova, Celebrity Ascent and Icon of the Seas.

“This is an exciting time for Royal Caribbean and we have an incredible partner to bring the seventh Oasis-class ship to life,” added Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International.

“This order signals Royal Caribbean Group’s continued confidence in our partnership which has delivered some of the most innovative ships at sea,” said Laurent Castaing, general manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique.

Since the 2009 introduction of Oasis of the Seas with Oasis Class, Royal Caribbean has provided memorable vacations to millions of travelers. The renowned ships have revolutionized cruising with their many innovations, from the debut of the neighborhood concept to the first split superstructure design, to entertainment in its various forms and the next vessel will continue in this vein with the combination of bold revolutionary and evolutionary experiences.
