Riverside Cruises: modular and combinable itineraries

Since its launch, Riverside Luxury Cruises has transformed the European river cruise experience by moving away from the traditional seven-night format and offering modular, combinable itineraries.

While many cruise lines stick to fixed weekly schedules, Riverside offers three-, four-, and five-night cruises that can easily be combined with classic seven-night routes, as well as longer journeys ranging from 10 to 23 nights. This approach allows guests to tailor their vacations with flexibility, choosing the cruise duration, departure dates, and embarkation cities that best fit their travel plans.

Jennifer Halboth, CEO of Riverside Luxury Cruises North America, emphasized that flexibility has been at the core of the company’s philosophy from the very beginning. The itineraries are designed so that travelers are not bound to a rigid weekly schedule, instead offering the possibility to customize the journey according to the needs and preferences of each guest.

The modular approach also expands embarkation and disembarkation options. On the Danube, for example, it is possible to start or end a cruise in cities such as Vienna, Budapest, or Passau, including round-trip itineraries from Vienna—a rare option in traditional river cruising. Additionally, departures are available on multiple days of the week, freeing travelers from the usual Saturday-to-Saturday schedule and making it easier to coordinate with flights and land travel, an increasingly important advantage given rising airfares.

Among Riverside Luxury Cruises’ most representative itineraries are offerings of varying duration and character, designed to meet diverse travel needs. These include the “Scenes of Southern France With Rhône Delta” route, which offers four days and three nights of discovery through picturesque landscapes, available from April to October 2026. For those seeking a more extensive experience, the “Three Rivers: Rhine and Main With Upper & Lower Danube” tour spans 18 days and 17 nights, with departures scheduled for May 6 and September 2, 2026, allowing guests to explore some of Europe’s most iconic rivers. Finally, the “Danube Serenade: Iconic Capitals & Wachau Valley” cruise features an eight-day, seven-night round-trip itinerary from Vienna, passing through iconic capitals and the scenic Wachau Valley, available from April to November 2026. These modular itineraries provide the opportunity to combine different experiences, personalizing the journey according to travelers’ schedules and interests.

With this approach, Riverside Luxury Cruises redefines the concept of river cruising by placing personalization and freedom of choice at the center. The modular itineraries allow each journey to be tailored to the needs of every guest, transforming the cruise into a bespoke, flexible experience perfectly integrated with land-based vacations, without compromising on luxury or comfort.
