Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has decided to relaunch the successful “Classical Music and Meditation” programme aboard MS Europa during the 12-day voyage from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Cape Town, taking place from 6 to 18 November 2027.

Following the programme’s debut last year, the overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests demonstrated how an intense and holistic experience can emerge from the innovative fusion of musical excellence and mindfulness. With this initiative, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, the leading luxury and expedition cruise brand in German-speaking markets, has introduced a new and visionary approach to its programme offering. The aim is to provide lasting inspiration for everyday life, allowing guests to take home valuable insights for a healthier lifestyle and more balanced routines.

The return of the programme in 2027 builds on this success, creating a setting where music and meditation can be experienced in a new and profound way. The Swiss ensemble CHAARTS, which already took part in the first edition of “Classical Music meets Meditation”, will return to perform, joined by internationally acclaimed soprano Marlis Petersen and Italian composer and violinist Francesca Guccione.

The Swiss ensemble CHAARTS performs classical works in close interaction with the audience, helping to create the unique atmosphere of its concerts. Meanwhile, Francesca Guccione’s music blends classical influences with contemporary sounds, expanding the repertoire with new and original sonic perspectives.

The participation of internationally renowned soprano Marlis Petersen, who has been awarded the title of “Singer of the Year” several times, represents another highlight of the programme. In addition to performing her musical pieces, she will offer exclusive sessions sharing her experience as an aromatherapist. These encounters will provide guests with a rare opportunity to benefit from her knowledge of breathing techniques, voice and sensory perception.

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has chosen the small luxury vessel EUROPA for this unique experience, as the ship has been recognised as the “Best Cruise Ship in the World” by Insight Guide Cruising & Cruise Ships. With an almost 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio, EUROPA offers an exceptional level of travel, combining impeccable service, a diverse culinary offering and outstanding itineraries around the world.

According to Lisa Wilken, Head of Luxury Cruises at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, what makes this format truly special is the direct interaction between a classical music ensemble and guided meditation. It is a unique experience, characterised by an intensity that cannot be found anywhere else at sea.

Classical music merges with movement, breath and sound in harmony with the ocean, creating an immersive soundscape that can even be physically perceived. Available exclusively to a maximum of 400 guests, the programme is a carefully designed interaction based on the combination of different artistic and physical disciplines, brought to life by internationally recognised performers.
